Start your day in Victoria on the Seaquest Explorer where you will play with starfish, discover sea anemones, eat Dungeness Crab and sail in our famous Inner Harbour

Welcome

Onboard the Seaquest Explorer is a 150 gallon touch tank aquarium that is teeming with some of the plants and animals that flourish in our southern waters. A local naturalist is available to guide your journey of discovery on the rich coastal ecosystem.

Your senses will be awakened by caressing a sea anemone, tickling a tube worm examining a sea star, and holding Dungeness crab. Your interactions with the wild animals in the aquarium and on the deck ensure great photo opportunities, but be sure to avoid the crab’s “pinchers”. Spectacular views of the picturesque inner harbour will leave you breathless. As we sail you will be surrounded by many historical buildings including the stately legislative building and the world famous Empress Hotel.

What people are saying

This was a fantastic excursion for the entire family. We had two teenage boys with us, and this was the highlight of their trip. I want to emphasize that they loved the entire vacation, but this was their highlight! The crew let the boys clean the crabs, catch them, and explained every question they could come up with about the ocean, its sea-life, and the Victoria area. The crew was personable, helpful, loved their job, and were absolutely top-notch. Our family, from grandparents to teenage boys, highly recommend this excursion. It was the perfect ending for an outstanding vacation.

This trip was the perfect way to end our trip; on a high note! The guides were wonderful, they were so informative and helpful. We boarded a small catamaran with two levels, every seat in the boat was the best seat in the house! The passengers downstairs started with an open aquarium and touch tank demonstration, while the passengers upstairs ate first. They served coffee, tea, cocoa, beer, wine, and sodas. The meal included a whole Dungeness Crab with melted herb butter for an additional fee! It was phenomenal! Passengers were free to roam about the boat, onto the front deck and the back deck, change floors, and play in the aquarium at any time. This is a must-do, especially if small children are involved. But I can safely say that everyone on the tour that I was on, had an amazing time. Smiles on everyone’s faces!

I took the excursion with my husband, 25 yr. old son, daughter and her husband. We all had as much fun as the young children. The crew was well versed in the wildlife in the area and the guide was fun and educational for the young kids by the onboard sealife tank. Learning how the crabs are caught was fun and my family loved the hands on experience we had.The crab was delicious and fresh. We all highly recommend this excursion-worth every penny.
